QUESTION ANSWER FORUM

Which is the best course for me?

If you are a working medical professional and cannot afford to spend 1 -4 months at the institute but still would like to learn the basics of clinical cosmetology with a hands on experience of various aesthetic procedures, then the PGDCC with intensive hands on training course, is the option that may suits your needs. The theory modules are provided online and you can finish it over the period of 6 months.

If you have one month to four months time available with you and you have dedicated yourself to explore the field of aesthetic medicine as the preferred area of practice, then PGDCD and FAM courses give you exceptional exposure and experience over and above the intensive hands on training sessions. Such a course, would give you a detailed overview of how to establish your own setup in future.

Can I move from one course to another?

Yes, always supportive for providing the maximum output in learning, we are open to extend your one week PGDCC course to month long PGDCD or four months long FAM course but in accordance to the eligibility criteria mentioned for courses of longer duration. Are these courses recognized /affiliated with the Government of India?

IIAM is a standalone unaided private institute offering skill training to registered doctors already trained from government affiliated medical colleges. The medical professionals already are licensed by the virtue of their basic medical degree to practice non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures that are essential to the field of aesthetic medicine. The government offers no special recognitions for such practitioners. The skill enhancement and training through the courses provided at IIAM further enables you to offer your patients the latest evidence based treatment modalities for their aesthetic concerns.

What is the role of private institute like IIAM in providing training in Aesthetic Medicine and cosmetology?

World over and as well as in India, the field of Aesthetic and cosmetology is booming at a fast pace and numerous professionals are setting up an Aesthetic practice. The field includes many cosmetology treatments which come under beauty procedures and as well as non invasive and minimally invasive medical procedures. Health departments of various Governments, like that of Singapore, Australia, UK, USA are coming up with regularly updated guidelines for Aesthetic practice. In India no specific guidelines for this field exist as cosmetology/ aesthetic medicine is not considered a sub-specialty or super-specialty or a broad branch as per Medical Council of India. Also most of medical colleges are not duly equipped to train the students in the aesthetics field and this is giving rise to ‘qualified’ specialists without due knowledge, skills, training and experience to perform many of the latest high end aesthetic procedures. In such a scenario it become imperative that a setup like IIAM offer practical skill training courses to duly licensed practitioners to enhance their knowledge and ability to offer the latest and the best of treatment modalities to their patients in their practice.

Do you offer online / off campus course?

We strongly believe in the quality of education offered to our students. There is no point in applying for our courses if the certificates are only what you seek. The whole idea to run this institute is to offer quality education in the field of Aesthetic medicine. Online modules are an essential part of PGDCC and FAM courses, but the most important part of any course at IIAM is the contact program spread over 7 days/30 days/4 months for various courses. Only a direct observation and practice under supervision of a qualified practitioner can help you learn various procedures in the best possible way. We do not run any off campus courses, because we do not believe in educating our students on dummies alone. Hence an OPD with a strong inflow of patients is essential for practical training. The inflow of patients from the aesthetic and cosmetology clinic attached to IIAM provides for the best possible learning environment, which wouldn’t be possible with same quality campus courses.

I am interested in learning selective procedures alone and I do not want to do the whole course, is it possible?

We at IIAM understand your requirements and are happy to offer a customized certificate course for various procedures like Injectables, fillers, growth factors etc. Please check the certificate course section under the ‘Courses’ tab or connect with us through email with your exact requirements.
